These always make my day a little better :)

My city (Graz, Austria) is currently a mess of clouds and fog and wet leaves. These pictures just made me take a deep breath and relax a little. :)

    Scotland?

That looks uncannily like some of the places near here. A little less wild. A little more green.

  • siobhan

Wow. Are you in the middle-of-nowhere California or something?

This looks beautiful, thank you for sharing. I’ve been wanting to take a retreat like this for awhile…

Nature’s the cure for what ails ya, says I.

I’ve been trying to drudge up the courage to move somewhere completely out of my comfort zone. Your pictures and updates are super inspiring to do what’s necessary to make that shift. Thank you! :)

These are wonderful. You must feel so peaceful there :)

    The journey begins….beautiful.

Beautiful shots! I hope you’re enjoying this part of California. The shot of the thistles is particularly gorgeous.

    Thanks, everyone!

Happy to see these photos making an impression, 520px at a time. I can’t get enough of all the green, breathing, alive – everything. Nature-starved. Air-starved.

It’s not Scotland, Simon, but northern California, and I absolutely love it here. Remote, but not too remote and 100% stunning everywhere I look.

I would love to visit Scotland sometime, though!

Ah yes, I forget how vast California is, and how many multitudes it contains.

And should you ever visit Scotland, please drop me a line, I’m always happy to serve as tour guide for people who have an eye for the appreciation of the wild places.

Northern California is gorgeous, especially this time of year. I love that you are tapping into your photography talents on your hiatus. Having come back from the Folsom area recently I was able to capture some lovely photos of the fall colors. Being able to really see the beauty of nature helps to put perspective in what life is about. Ourselves become a microcosm in comparison. Keep snapping away, you are great at it!
