I have those exact sock garters from Sock Dreams and I love them. Last month I visited their lovely store in Portland and came away with only three pairs of socks…an amazing feat of self control on my part. Thanks for resuming your style posts, I do adore them!

So far loving the new blog posts Zo!
I’ll be graduating from uni with a bachelors in design soon, and i’ve always wondered what on earth im supposed to wear to an interview- they told us not to dress corporate, but “neat with flare”, then i think wtf is that supposed to mean?! just like ‘casual’ i dont ever want to be mediocre, especially in a job interview – so i am very thankful for your style dispatch posts, i hope to soon find some inspiration to put together a stylish job outfit.

There is a Japanese term for that “sliver of skin” between skirt and knee socks: zettai ryouiki. In true otaku fashion there is also theory on how to achieve perfect zettai ryouiki, a common estimation being the ratio: 4:1:2.5 (length of skirt, amount of skin, and length of sock above the knee).

Well, yes, ah, don’t ask me how I know that.

Your garters add a nice dynamic and I spent more than a few moments ogling your shoes. I love the color, the sheen and, of course, the buckle and strap.

I LOVE socks, problem is I have some tree-trunk legs (overexagerating, i know) and trying not to look dumb in them or finding ones that fit over the knee and don’t look like they’re cutting off my circulation is like, a feat. Therefore, I enjoy oggling other people in neat socks.

I also agree with your stance on casual. For my job I have to wear a form of uniform, so even for trips to the supermarket I refuse to be bland!

I love, love love this outfit. Your style is just so spot on.

And there is no better place than Tokyo for the ultimate legwear, especially over-the-knee socks. I love how all the girls wear them anytime, anywear over there and nobody gives them shit for it.

And he also completely agrees with you about the value of the covered leg w/ sliver of thigh and the love for the sock collection. If he were a girl he would have many thigh-highs. Oi. Girls are painful. They are a delicious agony, aren’t they?

What’s not to love about socks? And you really know how to show them off.

In my opinion, you should write a whole post dedicated to socks and maybe you can even model your collection, which I bet must be impressive.
