Packing my little suitcase and heading to San Francisco for a few days. If you know of awesome places or events I should be attending, do let a sistah know.

The other night, after dancing for a while

Also, was just sent this and had to document it, before the murdering begins:

wow… anti Zoe sentimentality? I personally didn’t think it was possible.

    You are my favorite”Cosmonomad”.

  • Rachel

    Just…wow…?

How did that make you feel? I think I would have laughed if it were about me…but…idk? whatever, it’s just some random person from the internet. I think there are way more of us out here that appreciate you than those who you “creep” out.

  • Synesthesia Garden

Aww. Mean. I wouldn’t take it too personally if I were you, though. I think they’re saying that they feel that they SHOULD like you (because you’re awesome) but they don’t, maybe because your tone isn’t personal enough for them or something? I don’t know why anyone posts negative things about people where they could read them, though. It’s so stupid.

To be interesting is to evoke opinions, good and bad. Far better to take slings and arrows alongside milk and honey than to take nothing.

  • zoetica

Perhaps he’s never heard of “uncanny valley” – his fear is perfectly normal.

Seriously though guys, don’t worry – Ales and I had a good laugh about it – I just thought the irony was too thick not to post it here. This person went as far as to try an do my birth chart, yet it is I who creeps him!

  • Jeff Coleman

    The Horror.

  • Olivia

first of all, ahahaha @thatguy. You’re so obviously a serial killer…or something. That makes sense, right? (no.)

second, we’re both Leos. :D i have something in common with Zoetica! this makes me happy

  • Alicia

I am in lust with your dancing boots.

  • Melissa Dominic

You’re so ~ooky~. You’re the coolest Ookster I’ve ever encountered on the internets, so whatevs, it’s cool.

YOU KNOW YOU’RE GOING PLACES WHEN PEOPLE ARE CHARTING YOUR BIRTH!

  • Alex

Bourbon & Branch, babyee. Maybe we could convene there en masse?

    http://www.bourbonandbranch.com

It’s like two blocks from our place.

  • Nate

Alas, the second appears to be stuck in the 14th century, and believes the position of the sun at the time of his birth (against a series of constellations that have changed due to precession) should determine who he should be attracted to.

I would just picture him as the Tin Man singing “If I only had a brain”.

Should you find yourself in the Mission District of SF, I highly recommend the natural curiosities shop Paxton Gate. You can find skeletons and skulls, exotic teas, minerals, unique fine jewelry, great book selection, and a variety of taxidermied animals big and small, some exquisitely costumed.
I don’t have an affiliation with the shop, it’s just a place I always make a point to visit when I’m in the area (east bay resident).
The nearest metro (Bart) stop is 16th and Mission.
    Cheers!

Oh, OF COURSE you have a Lookbook account. Therefore you are a serial killer. Also you aren’t an archetypical Leo (you know, one of TWELVE personalities you’re allowed to have)! Clearly there is something wrong with you. Which is probably why everyone else loves you.

At any rate, I know Gala Darling already made it over but Five & Diamond is the shit! I went in the day they opened and they haven’t disappointed me yet. Also: Frjtz on Valencia (or Hayes, I think they finally finished remodeling the place…if they have, Hayes is the original spot) is DELICIOUS. I get the Spicy Fritz with pesto mayo and chiptole remoulade, and also the Basquiat.

And on the off chance you happen to visit Santa Cruz, you have friends/fans here. :) Enjoy SF!

  • Madelina

creepy? no ways you are the awesomest person eva Zo!

  • Tequila

I dunno, I think I’d like you more if you were a serial killer actually.

  • Nikki

This made me ‘lol’ a bit. Ohhh random people over the internet are awesome sometimes. Also, I love the pair of ‘witch’ looking shoes. I used to have a pair and damn they were comfortable.

  • Sam

Things in San Francisco you might do:

    * The Musee Mechanique
    * Emperor Norton’s Grave
    * St George’s Spirits (aka Hanger One)
    * Any of the Bay Area’s fine hackerspaces. TechShop is my favorite, but their day-rate for entry is half the monthly membership. Noisebridge is open and friendly.

I imagine Miss Nadya will take you on the walking tour of Valencia, but the suggestion wouldn’t be complete without it:
    * Borderlands Books and their attached coffeehaus.
    * 826 Valencia, and its next door neighbor…
    * Paxton Gate
    * Five and Diamond.
    * Side drives to the Bi-Rite Creamery or Lovejoy’s Tea Room are recommended from there.

Lastly, I hear excellent things about Bourbon & Branch, though I have yet to stop in myself.

  • Sev

    Long Live Zoetica!
    …and those shoes are amazeballs.

  • Stephanie

Dottie’s Cafe in the Tenderloin. yeah…you’ll smell pee all along the way, maybe get grabbed by a crazy bum or two and get harassed for chaaannnngggee as you wait in line (if you go on the weekend. wait can be up to 1.5 hrs) but TOTALLY worth it. not sure if they’ve changed their hours but super great tiny breakfast diner place. o_O

  • Trista

It gave me a laugh as well, this person ooks me out!
Are those lovely shoes Fluevogs in your suitcase?
    Have a fantastic time!

  • Sarabell

They are just never going to get over your star Ringu performance ;)

Either way that’s just silly, Have fun in San Francisco!

  • esme

If he is talking about you, your already better than him! :)

besides, sounds like denial to me. Someone who is looking you up on youtube etc is CLEARLY in love or envy. woooo!

  • Squoose

Awwww.. if you are creepy and spooky its only in the absolute best way.

  • Star

    You’re in my city?
Lady- we should get a beverage if you have time. Dropping you emailz.

  • Memphis

    …ooky vibes? Hah!

  • Emma Marie

    Haha. Loobook! Spelling fail!

  • Lissa

I don’t know you personally of course but, I think you are charming and wonderful and have a pretty good sense of humor! I like your writing style very much, it reads like we are just chatting and that’s fun!! I also think that you are beautiful and have a great sense of style! Hey maybe I’m creepy too then ha! Well, that said, I LIKE YOU, you are interesting and intelligent and creative and talented! Who asked that person for their opinion anyway? GOSH!

  • danae

i’m pretty pumped about the “ooky” comment, myself; and also what has been mentioned of this person seems to be trying really really hard to try to ~get~ you. watching youtube videos and researching your sign and personality.
i’m certainly glad there are people in the world who spend breathing space researching personalities. sounds a little serial killer-ish to me. oh ho ho.
