Gaze in horror at the hideous in-betweenery I withstand to reach my beloved cobalt.

    What’s your process for the blue-ing? Do you bleach it all every time? And what kind of conditioning treatment do you have to do?

    I had blue streaks for a year, and am going to have them (and some green!) streaks again in a week or so… I can’t wait. I love blue hair, and I love yours especially.

    ooh i love colored hair. i’ve had mine pink, blue, purple, red and yellow… it’s magenta now but for some reason, this stupid dye i used keeps washing off and i have to majorly clean the bathroom each time i shower!!! ugh. but, love your blue. :) and those illustrations!!!

    @gilda – thank you so much!!
    @intrikate88 — The process:

    1. dye the sides and a layre on the front black.
    2. bleach the roots of everything else
    3. dye blue

    I do touch up in between without bleaching. Also I add blue dye to my conditioner to keep the fading down. I use Redken “Extreme” line – not only do the bottles come in cobalt blue, the conditioning is amazing.

    @zoetica- How does the blue in your conditioner work on the black hair, does it tint it any? Right now most of my hair is medium brown and I don’t want it to look grotty if the blue conditioner gets onto that… And I’ll have to try that Redken Extreme conditioner sometime, it sounds good. I use Aussie 3-Minute Miracle now, and that works really well.
